Divided Worlds
Looks like that closure might not be so permanent!
Having taken a piece of advice left by an anonymous visitor to the C-Box, I have placed an ad on ProBoards Support and hope to see an influx of new members in the near future. If this works, the icing on the cake would definitely be to see some of our original members return; especially those from the previous sites and those whose characters are important to the storyline, though I will most likely be deleting permanently inactive accounts and, if they are for canon characters, be putting those characters up for adoption.
I sense a serious revamping coming up, ladies and gentlemen. I hope to God we can revive Divided Worlds - and I want you all to be a part of it.

The Rules - MUST READ « Thread Started on Jun 23, 2008, 7:01am »
The rules. Every site has them, they're fundamentally the same everywhere, but they're inexorably necessary. I expect every member to abide by them, easy as it is to do so.
#1: Multiple Characters - There is no limit on the number of characters a member may play, but each one must be hosted on a separate account. If you do have multiple characters, be sure to keep them all active. If a character becomes inactive, the staff will notify its owner via PM. Sustained inactivity of that character after this point will result in the deletion of that character's account. If the character in question is a canon, it will be made available for other members to claim.
Well, I see you've found the secret text. Lucky you.
#2: Courtesy - Remember, every member of this site is a human being, and they all have feelings, just like you. Treat everybody with the same courtesy and respect you would expect of them.
All opinions should be respected and expressed maturely, without resorting to any name-calling or insults. Such behaviour just makes you look childish and immature.
Do not start threads or make posts to slander, insult or otherwise demonstrate a lack of respect for other members, the staff, or other websites/forums.
Discriminating against someone's age, sex, ethnic group, culture, race, skin colour, nationality, sexuality, etc. will not be tolerated.
#3: God-Modding - We all want a powerful character, right? Just don't make them too powerful. Seemingly invincible characters who refuse to take hits in battle and are apparently capable of slaying enemies in seconds are no fun at all for the opponent(s). Mary-Sue characters will not be accepted.
Cleverly hidden, isn't it? Ingenious, if I do say so myself.
#4: Powerplaying - Powerplaying refers to one member manipulating another member's character without that member's consent. Keep in mind that when your character interacts with another, you may not role play the other character's responses to your character's actions. This is especially important in combat; when you role play an attack, you must allow your opponent to decide whether or not that attack hit its mark and post accordingly.
#5: Mini-Modding - We staff members are here to make sure you have fun, and that entails dealing with rule-breakers among other things. If you see somebody breaking a rule around the site, do not point it out openly - PM a staff member about it so that it can be dealt with properly.
Now, down to business. Keep going.
#6: IC Posting - While a minimum word count for IC posts encourages members to develop the literary skill to consistently produce posts of a decent length, such a requirement tends to discourage newcomers with little such skill. That being said, quality is preferred over quantity. For this reason, no minimum word count for IC posts will be enforced, but I ask that you make up for this with good quality posts - or at least, something other members can actually reply to.
#7: Advertising - There is a whole board for the purpose of advertising sites. If you have an advertisement to put up, place it in the Advertisements board only.
#8: Signatures - All material within your signature - images, large bodies of text, etc. - must fit within a space of 400x300 pixels. For example, you could have a 400x200 signature image (or multiple smaller images) and a few lines of text, but it must all fit within the allotted space of 400x300. If your signature exceeds this size, you will receive a PM from a staff member asking you to resize it. If it has not been resized within 48 hours of receiving this PM, it will be deleted. If you are unsure how to resize an image, check this site.
#9: Inappropriate Material - Absolutely no pornography or other inappropriate material of any kind. Breaking this rule will result in the offender being permanently banned - email, IP address, the whole shebang - without warning, and the offensive material being immediately deleted.
The password is "chocolatefrog".
Warnings - All instances of rules being broken, the only exceptions being the Multiple Characters, Signatures, IC Posting and Inappropriate Material rules, will be handled as follows:
If the member in question has offended only once, they will be given a verbal warning.
The second offense is a PM warning and a warning level of 25%.
The third offense is another PM warning, a three day ban and a warning level of 50%.
The fourth offense is a one week ban without warning and a warning level of 75%.
The fifth offense is a permanent ban of the offender's email address and/or IP number without warning.
Offenders who have had their warning level raised can redeem themselves through good conduct on the site and can have their warning level reduced if I, and only I, see fit.
So watch out, troublemakers. If you wind up banned, don't start moaning - you'll have been given more than enough chances to straighten yourself out.
Notes:
I reserve the right to alter these rules at my discretion. An announcement will be made regarding major changes, but the onus is on you to check this thread.
The staff reserve the right to lock, move, delete or edit any posts or threads we see fit at our discretion.

07 October 2008 - UPDATE
Edited the IC Word Count rule. It is now IC Posting; I decided to remove the minimum count so as to remove what pressure there would be on those of us with a little less... literary prowess.
